This is a blog about space, seen from the eyes of the Japanese astronauts, engineers, physicists, and other visionaries who are helping Japan to play their part in the global space exploration effort.
If you’re wondering where the “before breakfast” name comes into everything, it comes from a certain Japanese expression, “asameshimae” (朝飯前, or literally, “before breakfast”), expressing that something is extremely easy to do. Kind of like “a piece of cake.” The expression is indicating that something is so easy to accomplish, it can be done before someone eats breakfast. I hope to make understanding space issues, so far as Japan is concerned, as easy as that.
As for me, I’m a Japanese translator and programmer by profession, and normally translate video games. I’ve had a strong interest in astronomy and space exploration for many years, and this blog is my attempt to combine my skills with my interests and share something nice and interesting with others.
